HYPONATREMIA IN PNEUMONIA: HOSPITAL BASED CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY
Abstract
Every year acute respiratory infections in young children are responsible for an estimate 3.9 million deaths worldwide. It is estimated that Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Nepal together account for 40 per cent of the global Acute respiratory infection mortality. About 90 per cent of the acute respiratory infections deaths are due to pneumonia which is usually bacterial in origin. Childhood pneumonia is an important cause of morbidity in the developed world, and morbidity and mortality in the developing world.
